Tellus Zine Issue 007:

Cosmos

Tellus Zine is a dynamic youth-led digital and print publication through Kennedy Heights Arts Center. Since its 2019 launch, the program has offered a powerful platform for young voices to share their creative work. With five print issues published and this newest digital one, Tellus Zine is curated by an all-youth editorial board. It features visual art, music, and writing from young adults aged 13-18 across Greater Cincinnati.

For our 7th issue, The Tellus Editorial Board has selected the theme Cosmos.  Defined as the universe and its nature or order, what is your cosmos? Wonder: what is your world? What is your reality? Define beauty, space, and essence in your galaxy. Reflect on the course of your existence and the orbit of the people around you.

Editorial Statement

Cosmos has an infinite scope of possibilities. An endless amount of energy and stars combine to create the colourful, vast universe surrounding us. It is the people and environment we surround ourselves with, the time we spend serving our purpose on this earth, the hopes, dreams, light and warmth displayed by the stars in our galaxy. That is the core essence of “Cosmos”. Our partnership with the Cincinnati Art Museum (CAM), allows us to explore the intersection of celestial and the ethereal, where the vastness of the cosmos meets the magic of Whimsy, CAM’s theme for their 10x10 expo.

As Tellus channels the infinite creative possibilities of our universe and CAM celebrates the joyful unpredictability of creativity, our partnership becomes a shared orbit — where science, story, and artistry can freely collide and coalesce. Together, we can agree that there will always be room for luminescence, even in the great unknown.
