Shimmering Wind, Pen/Ink

The balloon idea popped in my mind after I watched a Cirque du Soleil’s show in Dayton. In the show, the artist was flying in the air while her waist was tied by six huge balloons. In my artwork, the artist is gone, and there is not even a basket under the balloon. You may ask, where are these balloons from? Where are they going? Who created them? Was there a person riding the balloon but he or she was gone? Maybe the magic power or a spell made the rider disappear or transported him or her to somewhere far away. To me, that is whimsy. I designed all the detailed patterns on the balloons to make them look magical and fanciful. The blue and purple color also symbolizes mystery. My final touch is a sprinkle of glitter which resembles pixie dust.
