LIFE IS CHANGE: Call for Submissions

Tellus Zine seeks submissions of art & creative writing from Greater Cincinnati teens on the theme: Life is Change

CINCINNATI, [January 20, 2022] -- Tellus Zine, a digital and print magazine made by and for teens seeks creative submissions from young adults (ages of 13 to 21) for potential publication in Tellus Zine, Issue 003: Life is Change and exhibition in Kennedy Heights Arts Center’s outdoor gallery. 

Led by an all-youth editorial board and showcasing visual art and creative writing by young adults from across Greater Cincinnati, Tellus’s mission is to provide a platform for young people to express themselves bravely and creatively as a part of our diverse community. For their third annual issue, the Tellus editorial board acknowledges the tumultuous nature of our present era and urges their peers to mindfully consider the only constant in life––change. 

To address the rapid change in our world, we are looking for art inspired by the constant change of life. Our universe is in a constant state of movement and the balance is always shifting. If outward observations of change don’t inspire you, then look for change inside yourself.

As a theme, Life is Change invites opportunities for visualization and open interpretation. Diverse responses to this theme–exploring change on levels from the microscopic to the cosmic, the individual to the metaphysical, the personal to the political are all strongly encouraged. Creative submissions of all kinds are welcome, including: poetry, short stories, essays, collage, drawing, painting, photography, video, animation, music, and more!  Submissions will be reviewed by The Tellus Zine Editorial Board, which is comprised of eight diverse high school students from across Greater Cincinnati.  Selected works will be published in Tellus Zine, Issue 003: Life is Change and may also be included in an outdoor exhibition at  Kennedy Heights Arts Center’s outdoor gallery. 

This call for submissions on the theme Life is Change is now open and accepting submissions at telluszine.org until March 2, 2022.
