Behind the scenes: Issue 002 Process
With the quickly approaching release of Tellus Zine’s second annual issue, Metamorphosis, the Editorial Board would like to give our readers a sneak peak into the behind-the-scenes work we’ve done!
After receiving the last of our submissions, an initial meeting was used to comb through each piece and get a general sense of how people had interpreted our chosen theme. Surveys were then sent out to editorial board members and, over the course of a week or two, we voted on which submissions best fit the theme. We related pieces to each other, keeping an eye out for any emergent themes, which helped to organize the format of this issue. After we finished categorizing submissions—which touched on a wide range of themes, including: depression, hardship, rebirth, and nature—we began to shape and create our zine’s format. And voilá! After much hard work and dedication, our masterpiece is just about ready to be released into the world!
On behalf of the Editorial Board, we’d like to thank our readers and contributors for making the zine possible. We couldn’t have done this issue without you, and we’re excited for you to see it.
Lastly, the Editorial Board would like to give a huge shoutout to Naina Purushothaman for designing the layout and cover for Metamorphosis!
