Roots // Jamie Blodgett

I do not want to rely on you to fill the empty holes in my heart.
I do not want to question who I am by myself, because I’m busy wondering who I am with you.
I want to undress my heart, and feel your soul connect with mine.
I want connection. I want separation.
The end of the world does not begin with you not wanting me.
But if I don’t want myself, the world is nothing but endings.
I need to remember my roots. The roots that run so deep they created meadows.
I need to remember what my hazel eyes saw in the world before the saw you.
Before you became my world.
Before you became my destruction.
