A Trio of Pears

Natalie Alexander, 9/19/24, colored pencils and markers.

I drew a trio of pairs to work on balancing the background, middle ground, and foreground in my pieces. I used contrasting colors, like blue and orange, to emphasize the piece's contrast and radiance. With the help of the vivid colors, I was able to sketch the shadows and depth of the subject matter.

I typically use mixed media in all my pieces, such as watercolors, collages, colored pencils, gouache, and acrylic paint. I enjoy experimenting with strong contrasts and vibrant colors. In my ongoing investigation for my AP Art class, I emphasize the reminiscing and reflection occurring in the world on various topics, both personal and universal.
