A Mindful Place
Natalie Alexander, 8/25/24, Scrapbook paper and collage images.
In this piece, I used images that evoked nostalgic and sentimental feelings for me. I added a ripped collage of images as a border to make the subject matter appear in a “picture frame.” I also tried to add pictures that used cozy and wistful colors to depict a memory regarding the innocence of girlhood.

I typically use mixed media in all my pieces, such as watercolors, collages, colored pencils, gouache, and acrylic paint. I enjoy experimenting with strong contrasts and vibrant colors. In my ongoing investigation for my AP Art class, I emphasize the reminiscing and reflection occurring in the world on various topics, both personal and universal.
